Naruda Donoruda Movie Review :-
Sumanth: had been going through a lean phase. After three back to back failures, he returned to cinema after a gap of two years from his last outing. This time he is testing his luck with the remake of Shoojit Sircar’s “Vicky Donor,” a classic romantic comedy about sperm donation.
Since then there have been several speculations in T-town on Sumanth’s bold choice. While many appreciated him for this risque subject, detractors were suspicious about the Telugu audience receiving the film. Amidst all this hullabaloo, the film made it to the screens today. Check out our review of “Naruda Donoruda” without any delay.
Story: Vikram aka Vicky (Sumanth,) is a happy go lucky youth living with his widowed mother (Sri Lakshmi) who runs a beauty parlour and is the sole bread winner of the family. There is also a grandmother (mother-in-law to Sri Lakshmi)in this family. Dr Anjaneyulu (Tanikella Bharani,) has an infertility clinic which is in steep losses and he is looking for a sperm donor whose genetic background is good. Upon learning that Vikram’s great grandfather had 17 children and his last child was born when he was in 70s, Anjaneyulu wants to rope in Vikram as donor for his sperm bank. Initially reluctant, Vikram finally concedes to do it for his “pocket money” and wants him to keep it confidential. In no time, Vikram starts making huge money due to the demand from various influential couples in the society.
Meanwhile, Vikram encounters a Bengali girl Ashima Roy (Pallavi Subash,) in a bank and falls for her. After a few attempts, Ashima too falls for Vikram. Ashima is a divorcee who broke up her wedding on the first day after learning her husband wasn’t interested in their marriage. Vikram and Ashima’s parents were initially unwilling but finally accept the couple’s marriage.
Here’s a twist. Ashima, who loves children a lot, can’t give birth to due to tubal blockage. Devastated with this sudden blow, Ashima is naturally sad. This is when she learns that Vikram hasn’t undergone medical tests and finds the shocking reason is because Vikram is a sperm donor! And he does it for money at that!!
After falling out with Vikram, Ashima decides to part ways. In between, Vikram is arrested by cops after learning he has disproportionate assets, black money. Will Vikram and Ashima reunite? How do they overcome their problem of childlessness?
Artists Performances
Sumanth is good as Vikram. Though at portions, he goes overboard unlike Ayushmann Khurana in “Vicky Donor,” Sumanth has done justice to his role. Pallavi Subhash is okay. Tanikella Bharani too lives up to his role.
Director Mallik Ram has recruited good cast. The film’s cast and their performances stand out.

Final Verdict: Kudos to Sumanth for picking up such a bold subject and making appropriate changes to suit the Telugu sensibilities. The silver lining in the film is how this issue has been conveyed to the audience in a simple manner. The film has entertainment coupled with a good message – how sperm donation can bring joy into the lives of the childless couple.
Yet, it has its own shortcomings. It’s a makki ka makki remake of the original with few improvisations. Blame newcomer director Mallik for the missing “feel-good factor.” The film could have been better. The camera often gets shaky – especially in the first half- causing irritation to viewers. Music is passable given that the original had foot tapping tunes. Naga Chaitanya’s cameo towards the end is surprising and is just awesome.
On the whole, the film is one-time watch. “Naruda Donoruda” is recommended for the audience who haven’t watched the original
